The Farrells

Chugoku-chiho--Hiroshima - Page 1

Before detailing my adventures on this particular trip, I have a few odds and ends to tie up:

Mizue's New Shirt

An Odd Sign on the Train

Umeda Brass Band

Another late-night performance after my Friday shift in Osaka.

Layer upon Layer of Cityscape

This is north of Shijo Street on the way to the clinic where I was diagnosed with the flu and my first ever migraine at the same time.  (Haven't had one since then, fortunately.)

Mark Wilmot on the Guitar

After an NCB teacher's meeting in Osaka, we had a party at a bar.  Mark played a Civil War ear anti-war song about getting out of the draft because his dad's the surgeon general.  It was very funny.

NCB Rock Jam

Then me, Ken (drummer/NCB manager) and Dean (fellow teacher) rocked out and improvised a few songs for the crowd.  It was my first performance since being in an improvisational hardcore punk rock band in Texas called 19 Inches From the Curb.  In front you can see Yoshie, Tomoyo and Vera.

Kyoto Eki-mae

In front of the familiar facade Kyoto Station is where I begin retelling my journey to Chugoku-chiho, or Western Honshu.  Chugoku means "Middle Country," but also happens to be the name of China, so you have to add "chiho" (region) to the end in order not to confuse Japanese people about which place you're speaking of.
